Infection of toenail fungus may take few days to several months to get cured depending on the severity of the infection. This fungal infection leads to the discoloration of the nails from yellow to black, as per severity of the infection.

This color of the nail depends on the specie of the fungus that has attacked. In combination with discoloration, the infection can also lead to cracking and harsh pain of the toenail.

WASHINGTON – Infections may force premature birth, says a new study that found one out of seven women in pre-term labor invaded bacteria or fungi in their amniotic fluid. This small study does not prove that the germs provoke the early labor.

But Monday’s research used specialized lab tests to find out microbes, which missed by ordinary methods, and exposed more women with prevalent infections than previously estimated.

The intensity of infection increases the chances of a woman to deliver underweight, sicker baby, researchers reported.

“We don’t think any organisms belong in the amniotic sac,” said Dr. David Relman, the study’s author. “You’d have to assume there’s something wrong.”

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Whole Foods Market, the top US organic foods supermarket chain, announced this weekend a voluntary recall of fresh ground beef sold between June 2 and August 6 due to possible infection with E. coli bacteria in several US states.

According the website statement of the company, after seven cases of E. coli infection in Massachusetts and two in Pennsylvania were linked to the product, they recall affects of ground beef sold by Whole Foods.
