The survey was conducted by the American Academy of Otolaryngology, which decides to design May for better hearing and speech month. This academy also raises the concern about the children exposure to high level noise and music in and out of the house.

According to the estimation of organization, external sources of noise affect over three million children under the age of 18.

“It’s important to understand the intensity and effect of noise around you and make the best protections for your hearing. Usually children and teenagers don’t realize that when the noise level has reached to its threshold value that is why health care provider and parents need to be aware to teach their children how to avoid the permanent damage” researchers said.

The AAO-HNS offers some tips to parents so that they guard their children against the hearing loss.

• If you have to give a shout, the loud voice of shout can damage the ear drum. Always remind your child to always keep it low.
• You have to guide your children that they should have to take regular breaks to avoid damage some studies have explained that personal music player can cause hearing loss. Some mp3 players have also been measured to have a louder noise than those of power saw.
• If your child likes to go to the loud outdoor parties such as musical concern, advice him/her to wear ear plugs or ear muffs for safety.
