Healthy eating isn’t just about how you prepare your dishes but also about what ingredients you use.
A good place to start is to learn your food groups. Vegetables for example are not all alike. Different types contain different amounts of nutrients. You should think of the various types of vegetables as five different subgroups. These subgroups include dark green vegetables, such as romaine lettuce, broccoli, and spinach and turnips.

Then there are the orange vegetables, for example carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes. The next subgroup includes dry beans and peas, such as kidney beans, black beans, white beans, tofu, lentils and soybeans.
