Attorneys general of Connecticut, Delaware and New Jersey had issued the letter last October to eleven manufacturers of the babe bottle maker to quit the use of toxic chemical.

Richard Blumenthal, Attorney General of Connecticut reported that Avent, Gerber, Dr. Brown, Playtex and Evenflow have responded positively and going to quit the use of chemical.

Mentioned five companies have stopped the use of Bisphenol-A, a couple of weeks ago.

Legislators in Suffolk Country, N.Y., on Wednesday, were the first out of whole nation to vote in the favor to ban the use of Bisphenol-A in the baby bottles and sippy cups of toddlers.

Whether the quantity of BPA that leaches into food and beverages through container, represents an environmental risk is a subject of argument.

“Our primate model indicates that BPA could negatively affect brain function in humans,” study investigator Tibor Hajszan said.

Hajszan and colleagues examined the effect of continuous exposure to BPA at a daily dose recommended by US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) according to current reference safe daily limit that is 50 micrograms/Kg in young adult African green monkeys.

Research proceedings show that, BPA completely deteriorate the structure of some nerve connections in two important regions of the brain which include hippocampus and prefrontal cortex.

These findings have “thoughtful implications,” the investigators maintain, given the critical role of these nerve associations in cognition and mood.

“Based on these findings, we think the EPA may wish to consider lowering its ‘safe daily limit’ for human BPA consumption,” Hajszan said
