At some point in life, your child may become sick or injured. Many health problems or injuries can be quickly dealt with at home but some health problems need special care.
There are some diseases which are common all around the globe irrespective of the region and these require the attention of your child’s primary care physician.
Chickenpox
The symptoms of chickenpox are very clear red, quite itchy, spots/blister are scattered over the entire body and the child has a moderate fever. The time duration of the showing symptoms is between 10 to 20 days from being exposed to the infection. Chickenpox is infectious before the disease breaks out and may be so until the last spots have vanished and the scabs or crusts have fallen off. The child should stay home until the crusts have fallen off and the blisters are no longer weeping. Try to keep the child far form the other kids because they also rapidly become the victim of it. For treatment contact your doctor and use medicines according to instruction.
Whooping cough
The symptoms of Whooping cough are described by long fits of coughing followed by wheezy breathing and possibly vomiting. This cough attack at night mostly. From being exposed to the infection and showing symptoms it takes about 10 to 14 days. This disease is contagious during first week so try to keep the child away from other children under the age of one year. Fresh air is very important for the treatment because there can be more risk of vomiting. The child should be given small meals more often, instead of a more meal once.
Erythema Infectiosum (Fifth disease)
The symptoms of Fifth disease are a child has red fleck on the cheeks, nose, arms, thighs and buttocks. Fifth disease is often known as ‘slapped cheek’. Mostly the children of 4 to 12 become the victim of this disease. The symptoms and infection exposed within two week. It can last up to 14 days and rarely causes a fever. There is no treatment of this disease it disappears by itself. Usually quite a mild illness can experience. The disease is no longer infectious. This disease can be danger for pregnant women so they should avoid being in contact with children with fifth disease as it may cause a miscarriage.
Roseola Infantum (three-day-fever)
In the symptoms of this disease the kid suffers three-day-fever and his body covers with pink rash. It is mostly seen in children under the age of three years. The symptoms exposed take 10 to 15 days. This disease is contagious during the whole period and up to three days after cure. Avoid contact with other kids during the course of illness. Keep the child undress and in cool place and contact doctor for medication.
Blisters in mouth, (also on foot and hand)
The symptoms show the child has a large number of small spots and blisters, mostly in the mouth, on the feet and hands. The disease can cause a slight fever for a few days. It takes 2 to 3 days for being exposed to the infection. The contagious can exist as long as sport present. For treatment it is important to make sure the child gets plenty to drink. The parents should see their doctor too.
Scarlet fever
You can find the child has a slight to moderate fever, a sore throat and a rash which is often located in their armpits in the symptom of this disease. The child’s skin peels and they get coarseness, pink tongue (known as strawberry tongue). It can take 3 to 8 days being exposed to the infection. For treatment of this disease contact the physician. It is important to keep the child at home and avoid contact with other children.
