It is a common believe that the production of eggs, discontinue before the birth I most mammals including humans.

“The findings could help in the development of reproductive and regenerative medicines.” They described, some other scientist are also agreed with the study but according to them independent confirmation is required.

Scientist took the ovarian stem cell from the five-day-old and adult mice and cultured these cells for the six months.

Then they transplanted these cells in the infertile mice. They observe that the 80 percent of the mice were able to produce offspring.

“Study findings suggest that oocytes can be induced in sterile recipient females by transplantation of FGSCs,” they wrote.

Azim Surani, professor of physiology and reproduction explained that at the time of mating there are enormous numbers of sperm present but the number of egg in women is fixed at birth. This study describes these ovarian cells can be cultured in vitro, and after transplanting in female can produce the offspring.

According to the latest study, removing ovaries of women who happen to have a high risk of breast as well as ovarian cancer due to the mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes authentically reduces their risk of getting these both cancers.

Researchers carried out what’s known as the meta-analysis that combines the results of a series of studies and re-analyses them. Dr. Timothy Rebbeck, professor of epidemiology, who led the research at the University of Pennsylvania, observed the results of 10 such studies. The report was published in the January 13th issue of the Journal of National Cancer Institute. The risk reduction is pretty substantial but not as high as suggested in the previous studies.

The team concluded that it reduces a 79% risk of ovarian cancer along with 51% risk of breast cancer. The previous studies concluded that it reduces the risk by merely 95%. However, not everyone has agreed largely to the assessment as the reviewers claim that the actual reduction in the risk maybe higher than what’s presented as some surgical procedures have improved since the studies were being done.

ATLANTA – One in four teen girls have started the course of relatively new vaccine against cervical cancer, federal health officials said. The vaccine protects against viruses, which cause 70 percent of cervical cancer.

The large study represents the figure of vaccination rates for the Gardasil vaccine, manufactured and advertised by Merck Frosst, three-shot chain that targets the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV).

According to recommendation, girls should get the vaccine shots when they are 11 or 12, before sexual maturity.

For the results, researchers verified vaccination information through medical records of 3,000 girls ages 13 to 17. Of the girls in the survey, 25 percent had received at least one Gardasil shot.

“The shots could dramatically reduce the nearly 4,000 cervical cancer deaths that occur each year in the U.S.” vaccine proponents said.

But many people are curious about the safety of the vaccines, said Patti Gravitt, associate professor of Johns Hopkins University.

Another thing that matters is the price, retailing for about $375, although several health insurers now covering it. There are questions about, either vaccine provides lifetime immunity or a booster dose will be required.

“Some parents may be adopting the attitude with their daughters that, ‘Well, you’re still young. I can wait a couple more years before you’re sexually active.” said Gravitt.

“My personal opinion is that this seems quite reasonable after the first year,” Gravitt said, of the 25 percent vaccination rate.

The way a woman walks might be expressing a lot more about her than she expect, researchers claim. “Gait may be associated with orgasmic ability,” is the title of a study appearing in the September issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The observer may deduce women’s experience of vaginal orgasm from walking that includes fluidity, vigor, sensuality, freedom, and lack of flaccid and blocked muscles.

In order to establish a theory linking blocked muscles to sexual function, researcher, Paisley asked female students to complete questionnaires on their sexual behavior.

Two groups of students were made, first who said they always have vaginal orgasms and second who said never. Each woman was asked to walk 100 meters while thinking pleasantly, and another 100 meters with the same state of affairs but adding a male in their thoughts, whom they love.

Two sexologists assessed the gait and correctly placed the students into either orgasmic or non-orgasmic groups 81 percent of the time.

“It is that the vaginally orgasmic women do not have blocked pelvic muscles. As a result, the walk is natural, with the natural unobstructed connection between leg, pelvis, and spine movement,” says Brody.

The situation is fuzzy, but Brody do suggest that the sum of the length of a woman’s stride, plus the degree of rotation of vertebrae, might signal vaginal orgasm potential. Brody said it may be a sign of good mental health, confidence and a good sexual relationship.

Other experts are not admitting this study, because it was conducted only on 16 Belgian university women. Secondly, Brody is one of those, who argue emphatically that there is a difference between clitoral and vaginal orgasms.

MUNICH, Germany – Women naturally become heart patient much later than men, but not if they smoke, researchers said Tuesday. In fact, smoking, in women can cause heart attack fourteen years earlier than women who don’t smoke.

For men, the gap is not as big as in women. Male smokers have risk of heart attacks about six years earlier than non-smoker men.

“This is not a minor difference,” said Dr. Silvia Priori. “Women need to realize they are losing much more than men when they smoke,” she said.

Dr. Morten Grundtvig and colleagues from Norway based their study on data from 1,784 patients admitted with first heart attack at a hospital in Lillehammer.

Researchers found that, the average age is 72 in non-smoker men when they got first heart attack and 64 if they smoke. On the other hand women had first heart attack at an average age of 81 if they didn’t smoke, and at age 66 if they did.

After adjusting other risk factors for heart attack such as hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes, researchers conclude that the difference for women was about 14 years and for men, about 6 years.

Grundtvig said that smoking enhance the chances of early menopause, leaving them least protected against heart diseases. With growing rates of smoking in women, compared with declining rates in men, Grundtvig said that doctors expect to see increased heart attacks in women.

“Smoking might erase the natural advantage that women have,” said Dr. Robert Harrington, a professor of American College of Cardiology.

“The difference in how smoking affects women and men is deep,” Harrington said. “Unless women don’t smoke or quit, they risk ending up with the same dreadful diseases as men, only at a much earlier age.”

The study is the largest of its own type, and gives the most latest and detailed information to date on birth defects that occur to infants of diabetic mothers, including heart defects, omitted kidneys and spine disfigurement.

Nearly 40 types of birth defects enlisted during study, which found to be considerably more common in the infants of diabetic mothers than normal or who were diagnosed with diabetes after conceiving.

The study’s list of diabetes-associated birth defects is astounding. It is much longer than was previously understood, said Janis Biermann, senior vice president for education and health promotion at the March of Dimes.

“It adds more information about the specific types of birth defects associated with pre-gestational diabetes and gestational diabetes,” he added.

Birth defects affect one out of 33 babies born in the U.S, and cause around one in five infant deaths. Causes of most birth defects are not known but some risk factors may involve including obesity, alcohol, smoking, infections, gestational and pre-gestational diabetes.

From decades, doctors know about the threat diabetes poses to pregnancies. Previous research has focused on threats to the infant by the excessive amounts of glucose (sugar) circulating in the womb of a diabetic mother. Studies upon rats and mice have clearly shown that high sugar level harms fetal tissue development, said Dr. E. Albert Reece, a study co-author and dean of the University of Maryland school of Medicine, who directs birth defects research there.

The study concentrated on the 13,000 births involving a major birth defect, in comparison with nearly 5,000 arbitrarily selected healthy births from the same locations.

Mothers were asked if they had been diagnosed with diabetes before or during their pregnancy. The researchers said those who were diagnosed during pregnancy either had pregnancy-induced condition called gestational diabetes or had undiagnosed pre-pregnancy diabetes.

The study found that in 93% of birth defect diabetes was not involved. About 2 percent of the infants with single birth defects were born to mothers who had pre-pregnancy diabetes. About 5 percent of the children with more than one defect were born to mothers with same condition. The percentage of healthy births was much lower in those mothers who were diabetic before pregnancy.

“Diabetes is not discriminating” in which birth defects it’s linked to, said Dr. Adolfo Correa, a CDC epidemiologist who was the study’s lead author.
