WASHINGTON - Infections may force premature birth, says a new study that found one out of seven women in pre-term labor invaded bacteria or fungi in their amniotic fluid. This small study does not prove that the germs provoke the early labor.

But Monday’s research used specialized lab tests to find out microbes, which missed by ordinary methods, and exposed more women with prevalent infections than previously estimated.

The intensity of infection increases the chances of a woman to deliver underweight, sicker baby, researchers reported.

“We don’t think any organisms belong in the amniotic sac,” said Dr. David Relman, the study’s author. “You’d have to assume there’s something wrong.”

WASHINGTON — New research suggests student athletes who are too active, not just on the field, but every filed of life may delay their recovery. However female athletes may take more time to recover than males. It is an important message for parents and coaches of sports that healing from this common sports injury is more complicated.

Kevin Guskiewicz, an athletic trainer advises” No two concussions are the same, we need to be cautious with what we’re allowing someone to do, and at what point in their recovery they’re allowed to do it.”

Many athletes never lose consciousness, the most have symptom. Brain scans can’t diagnose a concussion and other symptoms not always apparent
Immediately and sometimes players can hide or diminish them: “Nope, no headaches, coach; put me back in.”

If one do so it is a serious risk. A second concussion before recovering from the first can cause brain swelling that can activate enduring damage and even death.

New research suggests, patients with rare cancers are being left to die due to a ‘postcode lottery’ over who gets access to drugs.

The Rarer Cancers Forum found extensive deviation the number of patients granted access to medicines in England.

In some area of England 100% of applications from patients were rejected, but in other areas every single one was approved the research report.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Whole Foods Market, the top US organic foods supermarket chain, announced this weekend a voluntary recall of fresh ground beef sold between June 2 and August 6 due to possible infection with E. coli bacteria in several US states.

According the website statement of the company, after seven cases of E. coli infection in Massachusetts and two in Pennsylvania were linked to the product, they recall affects of ground beef sold by Whole Foods.

What is Epilepsy ?

Epilepsy is a common term that refers to a tendency to have continuing seizures. The brain sends and receives messages to make action possible. LONDON — A new study put a question mark on the use of two most, widely used infertility treatments for couples who have unknown problems having children.

Doctors in Scotland tested ovulation stimulating drug and artificial insemination against completely untreated couples who had no clear reasons of infertility.

Researchers found minute difference in the number of couples who had babies, among the three groups. The study was published Friday in the British Medical Journal.

New research claims that drinking tea may find health beneficial. Black, oolong, green or white teas have a common source. All teas are produced from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis bush. The leaves are loaded with flavonoids and other polyphenols that work as antioxidants, possibly lowering the risk of some diseases.

THURSDAY, July 31 (HealthDay News) — Scientists stated that they’ve detected a gene that may reduce the risk of migraines with aura.

Though, the risk is still there, if the person develops migraines with aura, this migraine-protective gene in fact boosts their stroke risk.

“There is a reduced connection of migraine with aura with this gene, but if you have migraine with aura, the risk of stroke is multiplied,” said author, Dr. Tobias Kurth, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

While, using data from over 25,000 white women who took part in the Women’s Health Study, Tobias and his team came to know that around 18 % of the women have history of migraine.
